Undefeated Missouri returned to the Associated Press top 25 on Sunday for the first time since early in the 2011 season, checking in 25th.

The Tigers, 5-0, blasted Vanderbilt 51-28 on Saturday night and face No. 7 Georgia at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga., at 11 a.m. Saturday in a game that will be televised on ESPN. Missouri will be the fourth ranked opponent Georgia has played in its first six games.

The Tigers remain just outside the top 25 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll.

MU is one of seven Southeastern Conference teams in the AP poll along with Alabama (No. 1), Georgia (7), Texas A&M (9), LSU (10), South Carolina (14) and Florida (17).

That matches a record for one league. The Atlantic Coast and Big Ten have also done it, but no league has done it more than the SEC.

The Big 12 has four ranked teams: Oklahoma (12), Baylor (15), Texas Tech (20) and Oklahoma State (22).

For the fourth straight week, the top five teams are unchanged, led by No. 1 Alabama.

Besides Missouri, No. 23 Northern Illinois and No. 24 Virginia Tech also moved into the rankings for the first time this season. Arizona State, Mississippi and Maryland dropped out.
