Students and families in Kansas City’s Northeast High School neighborhood are on alert after students reported three attempted abductions in the past week and a half.
In separate incidents, students reported being accosted by people in vans who might have been trying to abduct them or rob them.
“It happened at bus stops or while students were walking home from school,” Kansas City Public Schools spokeswoman Eileen Houston-Stewart said.
The district does not know whether the incidents are connected, she said. Police are investigating. The district has increased its security patrols in the neighborhood around the high school at 415 S. Van Brunt Blvd.
