A 34-year-old Kansas City man pleaded guilty Tuesday for his role in the 2011 murder of a man in Independence.
Ronald Tevon Taylor pleaded guilty to felony murder and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Taylor had been charged in the killing of Lonzo O. Lamar, of Kansas City, Kan., Aug. 22, 2011 at the Hawthorn Place Apartments.
Lamar had been shot twice, once in the left shoulder and once in the back of the head.
A second shooting victim was critically wounded, but at the hospital told police that someone named “Travon or Jevon” was responsible for the shooting.
Taylor also pleaded guilt to armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm and drug distribution.
