Independence police need help learning more about a hospitalized man who remembers little about his past.

Officers received a report about someone needing medical attention on Friday, and they found the man near Little Blue Parkway and Interstate 70.

The man told authorities that his name is Christian Frye and that he thought he somehow was connected to the state of Washington. Police would like to help put him in touch with his family before he is released from the hospital, Officer Tom Gentry said in a written statement.

Anyone with information about the man can call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS or Independence police at 816-836-3600.
