Elderly victims identified in fatal Overland Park crash

The husband and wife victims of a fatal traffic crash Thursday in Overland Park were identified as Norman J. Russell and Norma F. Russell.

Norman Russell, 86, and Norma Russell, 80, were residents of Overland Park.

They were killed in a two-car collision Thursday afternoon at the intersection of 79th and Mastin streets. According to police, Norman Russell was driving a Cadillac Deville westbound on 79th Street when the 19-year-old driver of a southbound Mitsubishi Eclipse ran a stop sign and struck their vehicle.

A passenger in the Mitsubishi suffered minor injuries. The driver was not injured.

The collision is still under investigation.
