If you’re making plans for the weekend, you might have to deal with rain, at least on Saturday.
Above-normal highs for early autumn on Friday will give way to morning rains on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo.
Friday’s highs are expected to approach the mid- to upper 80s, which is 10 to 15 degrees above normal temperatures.
The day will also be breezy, with winds coming from the south between 15 to 20 mph, with gusts approaching 25 to 30 mph.
A change in weather patterns overnight will bring rain around sunrise Saturday.
Widespread rain with scattered thunderstorms are expected, but the storms are not expected to produce severe weather, according ot the National Weather Service. Some locations could get as much as an inch of rain.
The rain is expected to move out of the area in the early afternoon..
Once the storms clear out, cool and dry air will move in, with highs in the lower 70s.
The dry conditions are expected for the second half of the weekend through early to middle part of next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Highs on Sunday and Monday should be in the middle to upper 70s with plenty of sunshine.
