Johnson County prosecutors on Thursday charged a 21-year-old in the killing last week of a man in Overland Park.
Christopher Lamont Shelton-Jenkins was charged with premeditated first-degree murder in the death of Brandon L. Holmes.
Holmes, also 21, died from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Overland Park police. He was found dead last Friday afternoon at his apartment in the 9100 block of Robinson Street.
Shelton-Jenkins, of Kansas City, Kan., was arrested Monday and is being held in the Johnson County Jail. His bond was set Thursday at $1 million and his court appearance is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
