The Chiefs elevated guard Rishaw Johnson to the active 53-man roster from the practice squad on Tuesday and waived linebacker Josh Martin.
The move was precipitated by a groin injury to starting guard Jeff Allen, who may not be available for Sunday’s game against the Giants.
Johnson, 6 feet 3 and 313 pounds, joined the Chiefs' practice squad in September after spending the better part of a year with the Seattle Seahawks.
Martin, 6-3 and 245 pounds, joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent from Columbia University. He was inactive for the club’s first three games. If Martin clears waivers, he could take Johnson’s spot on the practice squad.
