Jackson County prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old woman for her role in the armed hold up of an elderly disabled veteran in Grandview.
Shawuna Janise McCray of Kansas City was charged Thursday with robbery, burglary and two counts of armed criminal action for the incident that occurred last week. McCray is accused of being part of a large group of teens who took firearms and other items from the victim, who was struck in the head after resisting.
Earlier this week, authorities charged two 18-year-old men in connection to the robbery. Five juveniles also have been taken into custody in the case.
Police said seven persons entered the veteran’s home in the 11900 block of Belmont Avenue and stole two handguns, a rifle and other items. A surveillance camera captured the incident. Several of the intruders were identified from the video.
