Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco skipped the birth of his second son Sunday to play against the Cleveland Browns.
The Ravens sent out a tweet that the Super Bowl MVP’s wife, Dana, gave birth around noon ET.
After warming up, Flacco reportedly received a phone call in the locker room that his son had been born.
The baby reportedly arrived a week earlier than anticipated. The couple’s first son, Stephen Vincent, was born in June 2012.
One sportswriter, defending Flacco’s decision, anticipated the “Judgmental Judys wagging fingers at Flacco for being a bad family man.”
But of course it touched off a slew of jokes on Twitter.
@SportsPickle: “After holding his new baby for about five seconds, Joe Flacco dumped it off to Ray Rice.”
The Ravens won, 14-6.
