The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has set Oct. 10 as the entry deadline for its annual “Green Teams” photo contest.

Winning photos that “celebrate the beauty and unique character of our state” will be displayed on a rotating basis on KDHE’s Green Team website

, which is also the site for rules and entry submission information for the photo contest.

The idea behind Green Teams is to incorporate environmentally sound practices into daily routines of businesses and schools.

The categories for the photo contest are: landscape, wildlife, recreation, weather and historical buildings and monuments.

All photos must have been taken in Kansas within the last three years.
