A Kansas City photographer and wedding planner has been convicted of multiple fraud and theft-related felonies involving customers who hired him for their weddings.
Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster’s office charged Mario Antoine last November after numerous people complained that they paid him in advance for services that he did not perform and said he refused to provide refunds.
A Jackson County jury found Antoine, 30, guilty Friday of four counts of theft by deceit and five counts of deceptive merchandising practices, according to Koster.
Jurors recommended a 45-day sentence on each count. Antoine also faces a fine of up to $20,000 on each count. A formal sentencing date will be scheduled later.
