Investigation continues into shooting on I-35 in Miami County

A man shot Friday night while driving on Interstate 35 in Miami County remained hospitalized Monday as authorities continue to investigate the incident.

The Miami County sheriff’s office said it was investigating the incident as an intentional shooting.

The victim, a 33-year-old Olathe man, was driving a minivan south on the interstate near Edgerton Road when a bullet entered his vehicle and struck him. The sheriff’s office did not say where the victim was struck but said Monday he was doing well.

Another adult and three children in the vehicle were not injured.

The shooting prompted authorities to close the interstate several hours while they searched the area. No suspect was found.
