Lee’s Summit police are looking for the driver of a car who struck and killed 34-year-old Edward Moody of Lee’s Summit on Thursday night.
Emergency crews responded about 8:05 p.m. Thursday to the west junction of U.S. 50 and Missouri 291, where they found Moody dead in the roadway. Police believe he was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50 from north to south when an eastbound car struck him and continued east without stopping.
Witness described the car as “boxy,” police said. Debris left at the scene indicates it was an 2000 to 2005 Chevrolet Malibu of unknown color, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information to call their hotline, 816-969-1752.
