A man who decided to commit a robbery in southwest Missouri walked into the wrong liquor store.

The clerk at the Beer 30 in Marionville on Sunday night, Jon Lewis Alexander, is a 30-year military man, former prison guard and the owner of a loaded handgun that he always keeps with him.

A store security video shows the hapless robber pulling his gun and demanding money.

Alexander calmly pushes away the robber's gun and draws his own handgun.

He points it at the man's mouth and the robber quickly backs away. No shots were fired and no one was injured. Police are still looking for the suspect.

The Springfield News-Leader reports Marionville police told Alexander he was a lucky man.

Alexander replied he thought the robber was even luckier.

Marionville is a town of about 2,500 between Joplin and Springfield.
