The 12th Street bridge over Interstate 35 on the west side of the downtown highway loop was to reopen late Friday, two weeks ahead of schedule.

The northbound ramps at 12th Street were to reopen as well.

The Missouri Department of Transportation closed the interchange in mid-July to replace the 12th Street bridge. It was one of 18 bridge projects in the downtown area that are costing $40 million.
