In January, actress Valerie Harper was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and given just a few months to live.
Today? Rumor has it that Harper will compete on the next season of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
Take that, cancer.
Gossip site TMZ reports that the 74-year-old Harper will compete with pro dancer Tristan MacManus. Sources tell TMZ that the two have been practicing and that Harper is surprisingly good and in very good physical shape.
This might be one of those can’t-miss seasons.
Take a look at who else is rumored to be hitting the dance floor: “King of Queens” star (and famously former Scientologist) Leah Remini; new mommy Snooki from “Jersey Shore”; Elizabeth Berkley (“Saved by the Bell and “Showgirls); singer Christina Milian; Jack Osbourne and retired NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson.
Oh, and Amber Riley from “Glee,” who teased her Instagram followers today of a “HUGE” announcement coming next week.
People magazine reported in March that four-time Emmy winner Harper has a rare form of brain cancer where cancer cells spread into the fluid-filled membrane around the brain.
Some doctors gave the former co-star of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” just a few months to live.
"I don't think of dying," she said at the time. "I think of being here now."
ABC will unveil the “DWTS” cast Wednesday on “Good Morning America.”
