A Gardner man was charged Tuesday with the attempted murder of a man who was stabbed during an altercation early Monday.

Johnson County prosecutors charged David Lee Conner, 35, with attempted second-degree murder. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The altercation that led to the stabbing at the Conestoga Estates mobile home park stemmed from a dispute over a woman who witnessed the incident. She was not injured.

According to court documents, Conner allegedly made verbal threats toward the victim before he was stabbed.

Conner is being held in the Johnson County Jail with bond set at $75,000.
