Kansas City police are looking for a gunman who shot a 24-year-old woman in a parking garage at a downtown entertainment district early Sunday.
Police don’t believe the woman was the intended target of the 1 a.m. gunfire near 13th and Main streets, but they still are investigating and looking for witnesses.
The victim was walking with her boyfriend when they heard gunshots. The boyfriend dropped to the pavement and then realized his girlfriend had been shot in the ankle. A witness told police he saw the gunman fire from the partially-rolled down rear window of a white Cadillac Escalade that sped out of the garage.
The couple told police they had not been involved in any altercations and did not have any problems with anyone.
