The search continues for a woman who's been missing since heavy storms flooded sections of south-central Missouri earlier this week, killing a boy believed to be the woman's child.
The 4-year-old boy was killed as heavy rain drenched the Pulaski County town of Waynesville late Monday and early Tuesday. Authorities believe the child died after the car he was in was swept up in rising waters. The boy's body was found near a creek in western Waynesville.
Dale Moore, spokesman for the Southwest Missouri Incident Report Team, said Thursday the search continues for the woman, who authorities believe is the child's mother. The woman and child haven't been identified.
Moore says water in the Waynesville area is receding, but more storms are expected in the region later Thursday and Friday.
