Bad move, Paula Deen.
The embattled Food Network star has turned down an offer to compete on the next season of “Dancing With the Stars,” according to Us Weekly.
“The dance floor is not the appropriate forum for her,” a Deen source tells the mag.
Well, she might not be able to dance as well as she cooks. But fans of the show have embraced old (Cloris Leachman), controversial (Bristol Palin) and forgotten (Kirstie Alley) celebs before.
And if anyone could use some love right now it’s Deen after all the scorn that rained down on her after admitting during a deposition that she used the N-word.
“We've seen career resurgences after the show,” the show’s host, Tom Bergeron, tells Us Weekly. “People go, 'I remember why I love that person!’”
Indeed. Nothing makes us love a celebrity like watching them trip and fall on their biscuits in primetime. (Kidding.)
Come on, Paula. Won’t you reconsider?
The cast for Season 7 will be announced Sept. 5 on “Good Morning America.” The season starts Sept. 16 with a twist – no results show on Tuesday nights.
