1 Million Cups, the Kauffman Foundation's program to connect entrepreneurs, will hold their first meetings Wednesday in Lawrence and Columbia.
The Kauffman Labs for Enterprise Creation now sponsors12 such gatherings
around the country, premised on the idea that sharing a million cups of coffee creates a community of people involved in business startups.
In each city, on Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m., two early-stage startups tell attendees about their enterprises. TheLawrence meetings are set for Cider Gallery, 810 Pennsylvania. In Columbia, meetings
will be at the offices of Regional Economic Development Inc., 500 E. Walnut St., Suite 102.
Lawrence and Columbia join Kansas City; Des Moines, Iowa; Houston; St. Louis; Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Iowa; Reno, Nev.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Denver; Chapel Hill/Research Triangle Park, N.C.; and Georgetown, Del. Up next are Orlando, Fla., and San Diego in September.
