The Kansas City animal shelter, awash in cats and kittens, is offering a two-for-one deal.
Through August, adoption fees on adult cats are waived and fees for kittens 6 months or younger are $50. But if you adopt one kitten, a second one is free.
The shelter received 25 cats and kittens that were confiscated Tuesday in an animal hoarding case in Kansas City, North. The shelter already was at capacity with 43 other cats and dogs that came in Tuesday. Summer is the busy season for shelters.
The shelter at 4400 Raytown Road is open noon to 6 p.m. weekdays and noon to 5 p.m. weekends. The Zona Rosa adoption center at 7351 N.W. 87th Terrace is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
