Clues sought in Gladstone woman’s fatal stabbing on disappearance anniversary

On the anniversary of a Gladstone woman’s disappearance, the TIPS Hotline on Wednesday morning issued a new plea for information to help solve her fatal stabbing. Nancy J. Bowman, 52, disappeared the evening of July 31, 2012 as she was walking to the Gladstone fire station at 6118 North Oak Trafficway. She never arrived. Gladstone police learned of her her disappearance on Aug 2. Her body was found Aug. 8 in a heavily wooded area near the Mountain View Apartment complex near 61st Street and Northeast Bircain Place. An autopsy found that Bowman had been stabbed, and her death was ruled a homicide. Gladstone police continue to investigate. Anyone with information is urged to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477). Tips can also be submitted at as well as by texting TIP 452 and information to 274637 (CRIMES). Anyone providing information leading to an arrest could be eligible for an award up to $1,000.
