Motorcycle crash kills 36-year-old KCK woman

A 36-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman died Saturday after she crashed her motorcycle in Independence.
The wreck occurred about 2:25 p.m. on Eureka Road east of R.D. Mize Road. The woman was westbound when she lost control on a curve, police said, causing the motorcycle to run off the road and crash into a tree.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police did not release her name, pending notification of relatives.
Police did not know why she lost control. The accident remained under investigation.
