Police make 26 DUI arrests at KC checkpoint

Police in Kansas City made 26 arrests for driving under the influence at an overnight sobriety checkpoint.

More than 900 vehicles were stopped at the checkpoint late Friday night and early Saturday morning on U.S. 169 near the Downtown Airport.

Kansas City police and Missouri Highway Patrol troopers also cited four motorists for driving with a suspended or revoked license; one moving violation; and three other traffic violations. Two others were stopped for marijuana possession. One firearm was recovered and 11 outstanding warrants were cleared, according to police.
