A 16-year-old suffered critical head injuries Sunday night after two males punched, kicked and stomped on his head at a Kansas City park.
The beating occurred about 6 p.m. near Linwood Boulevard and Park Avenue, where the victim had been walking with a friend.
Two men who knew the victim argued with him and began punching him until he fell down. While he was on the ground, they kicked and stomped his head before fleeing, police said.
Bystanders called 911.
When officers arrived, they found the victim with a three-inch cut above his eye and a cut to the back of his head at the base of his skull. An ambulance took him to a hospital. It is unclear whether he suffered any long-term brain damage, said Detective Chason Crowell.
The beating appears related to an ongoing feud, Crowell said.
