Morning shooting in KC is fatal

Kansas City police were investigating the apparent Saturday morning shooting death of a man in the 3800 block of East Ninth Street.

Officers were called to the neighborhood about 10:45 a.m. in response to a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a man with what turned out to be a fatal gunshot lying on the ground. He was next to a truck.

The victim died after being transported to a hospital.
