Sobriety checkpoint at 70th and Troost nets numerous arrests

Kansas City police and Jackson County sheriff deputies corralled dozens of violators in a five-hour checkpoint late Friday night and early Saturday morning at 70th Street and Troost Avenue.

The police checked 393 vehicles and made 16 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Other violations included seven instances of driving with suspended or revoked driver’s licenses, at least two stolen autos, a pair of cases of drug possession, a pair of firearms violations plus several instances of people with outstanding warrants.
