A man who died in a Kansas City home Sunday night was discovered by acquaintances who had planned to meet to him there, police said.

Police initially said the man, who was in his early 20s, had been shot, but later they said they were still trying to determine the cause of death.

Two acquaintances of the man found him passed out and covered in blood in the home in the 5800 block of East 16th Street about 6:40 p.m. Homicide detectives are investigating.
