Graffiti removal training:

What’s the latest do-it-yourself project for neighborhoods? How about graffiti removal?

On July 13, the city will train registered neighborhood groups on how to use graffiti removal chemicals and power washers to support the city’s Neighborhood Graffiti Abatement Program.

Through the program, the city has acquired 10 power washers, plus chemicals, that registered neighborhood groups can rent and use, for free, to remove graffiti.

The city is collaborating with Glidden Professional, a power washer company, to host the training session. It will be from 9 to 10 a.m. outside the Neighborhood Preservation Division, 4900 Swope Parkway.

Staffers will demonstrate the equipment and allow neighborhood groups to practice using it. Information on graffiti and its proper removal will be distributed.

Neighborhood groups do not need to sign up ahead of time.
