An Oak Grove man was sentenced Thursday to seven years in prison for driving into a hayride filled with people in October 2011.
The Jackson County prosecutor’s office said Kaylon J. Childers, 29, was sentenced to seven years on each of four counts of second-degree assault and to 100 days for driving with a revoked license. The sentences are to run concurrently.
Childers’ vehicle struck a wheel of the hay wagon, knocking a dozen people off and injuring two seriously in the accident on Route H near Interstate 70. The Missouri Highway Patrol said Childers’ blood-alcohol content was .205 percent.
He had previously been convicted of drunken driving and of driving with a revoked license.
