Three taken to jail after man, 69, suffers head wounds in Shawnee disturbance

Officers using a police dog have arrested three suspects who were seen leaving the home where the man was attacked.

Shawnee Police are investigating an armed disturbance early Wednesday that left a 69-year-old Shawnee man suffering from blunt force trauma to his head.

Officers were dispatched about 12:55 a.m. to the disturbance at a home in the 5400 block of Flint Street in Shawnee.

Officers found the man suffering from multiple head wounds. He spoke with officers before being taken to the hospital.

Three suspects were seen leaving the house. Police arrested a 22-year-old female relative from Shawnee nearby.

With the help of Shawnee’s police dog unit, officers arrested a 24-year-old Kansas City woman and a 23-year-old Kansas City man.

All three suspects were taken to the Johnson County jail and are awaiting formal charges.
