Kansas City police on Tuesday identified the man found shot to death in his car late Monday as Norris Payne, 35, of Kansas City.

Police were called to the Friendship Village apartments in the 5600 block of Norton Avenue just before midnight, where they found Payne slumped in the driver’s seat. He did not live there, and police did not know what he was doing in the area.

The gunman left in a vehicle.
