Police identify man shot to death in northeast Kansas City, Kan.

Police on Monday identified the man believed to have been shot to death in Kansas City, Kan., over the weekend as Jermaine V. Echols. He was 28.

Police found Echol’s body about 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Lafayette Avenue while responding to reports of a dead body.

Echols appeared to have died from a gunshot wound.

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating the homicide. Anyone with information about Echols’ death is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
