Former Missouri fullback T.J. Leon has been promoted to assistant athletic director for development, the school announced Friday.
Leon has spent the last six years raising money with the Tiger Scholarship Fund, and has been instrumental in Missouri’s ongoing fundraising initiative, called “Going for Gold, A Vision for Excellence.” In particular, Leon helped secure an anonymous $6.4 million donation in December.
“From his time as a student-athlete to his current role today, T.J. has been incredibly loyal and committed to Mizzou’s success on and off the field,” said Sarah Baumgartner, Missouri’s associate athletic director for development. “T.J. has been instrumental in the planning and execution of our Going for Gold drive, and his thoughtful and strategic approach are critical to our team’s continued success. I am thrilled for T.J., he has earned this promotion.”
Leon, a Norman, Okla., native who played for the Tigers from 1998 to 2002, is also assisting in ongoing athletic facility upgrades. He has been charged with coordinating premium seating solicitations associated with the luxury seating renovation and expansion on the west side at Memorial Stadium, as well as the east side expansion, which should be finished for the 2014 football season.
