A man jumped off the northbound lanes of the Interstate 635 bridge into the Missouri River about 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Emergency personnel from the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department deployed from a Kaw Point boat ramp and soon spotted the man, said Craig Duke, department spokesman.

Rescuers pulled him from the water at about 10:55 a.m. near the Fairfax Bridge, south of the Argosy Casino, which is about two miles east of the I-635 bridge, Duke said. They performed CPR on the man and took him to a local hospital, he said. His condition was not available Friday afternoon.

The man had parked a truck on the bridge before jumping, said Brent Holland, Riverside Police spokesman.
