Sobriety checkpoint nets several DUI arrests

A sobriety checkpoint in Kansas City ended early Saturday morning with 13 DUI arrests, police said.

Kansas City police and Jackson County sheriff deputies stopped 433 vehicles at 3719 Independence Ave. in Kansas City.

In addition to the DUI arrests, three were cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license, three for hazardous moving violations and 15 for other traffic violations. Others cited or arrested included: one for possession of cocaine, six for possession of marijuana, two for endangering the welfare of a child and seven minors for possession of alcohol.
