For at least the fourth time in recent months, police in Johnson County are investigating a report that a man exposed himself to juveniles.
The latest incident occurred Monday morning near Trailridge Middle School in Lenexa.
Two girls were walking to the school at 75th Street and Quivira Road from a nearby apartment complex when they saw a man standing behind a building just south of the school. The man waved at the girls, then exposed his genitals, according to police. The girls ran to the school and reported the incident.
Police described the person as a white male in his mid-30s. He is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and possibly has blond hair. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. The girls reported seeing a white panel van parked near the area, but police said they don’t know if the van was connected to the man.
A similar incident was reported in February at the same apartment complex in the 12000 block of West 76th Street that the girls had left Monday.
That person also wore a dark hooded shirt, but police said they don’t know if the incidents are related.
Last month, Overland Park police reported two incidents involving a man who approached children on foot and exposed himself. The first occurred near 91st Terrace and Robinson Street, and the second happened near 85th and Grant streets.
The Overland Park man was described as white, 20 to 30 years old or middle age with dark or brown hair. He was thought to be 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender build. He wore a dark or black jacket and jeans. He wore a black hat in one incident.
