Kansas City police on Saturday identified a motorcyclist who died after he crashed into the back of a car Friday night as Anthony B. Dunster, 41, of Kansas City, North.

Dunster’s 11-year-old son was riding on the back of the Harley Davidson, but was thrown into the grass after the 7 p.m. collision. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The car’s driver had slammed on his brakes after several deer darted into the road in front of him, said Police Sgt. Bill Mahoney. A wooded area close to the pavement would have made it difficult for the driver to anticipate the deer coming out, Mahoney said.

The wreck occurred about 7 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 435 near N.E. 96th Street. The car contained three juvenile passengers, one of whom suffered minor injuries in the wreck, Mahoney said.
