No injuries in KCK house fire

Kansas City, Kan., residence is considered a total loss, and its cause is still being investigated.

No injuries are being reported after a Kansas City, Kan., residence fire that began early Friday.

Firefighters responding about 2:45 a.m. to the 2600 block of Armstrong Avenue discovered fire in the rear of the one-story frame house.

Although neighbors thought two people might be inside the home, crews found no one. It took firefighters 45 minutes to control the blaze. Authorities considered the home a total loss, with damage estimated at $70,000.

The fire’s cause is still under investigation.
