The Missouri Department of Transportation and city of Kearney are asking for public comment on a possible new interchange on Interstate 35 at 19th Street.
The new interchange is being proposed about one mile south of the interchange to Missouri 92/6th Street.
Kearney and Transportation Department officials will have an open-house style public hearing from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kearney City Hall at 100 E. Washington St.
The hearing is part of a study that will help the Transportation Department and Kearney determine the best location of a potential interchange.
The hearing is part of a study that will take into consideration the impacts on the environment and local road system as well as projected growth.
There will be no formal presentation at the hearing. However, people will be able to discuss the project with representatives from the Transportation Department, Kearney and the study team.
Those unable to attend the hearing are encouraged to visitwww.modot.org/kansascity
