For those craving spring-like weather, be patient as today’s chill will give way to warmer temperatures this weekend.
But get out an enjoy it because chilly and wet weather is expected to return next week, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo.

Today’s highs will be well below normal. Northwest winds will keep highs in the mid-40s to lower 50s with cloudy to mostly cloudy skies.
Tonight’s skies will clear, allowing temperatures to drop into the upper 20s to low 30s.
Although a hard freeze is not expected, frost will be likely and people should protect vegetation that is sensitive to cool temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will warm Saturday and by Sunday highs should be above normal with highs in the lower to middle 70s.
The chance for thunderstorms return Sunday afternoon with additional chances for thunderstorms on Monday through Wednesday.
Heavy rain is possible, especially into the middle of next week, which might lead to additional flooding problems across the area, according to the National Weather Service.
