Man shot to death in south Kansas City home invasion, children safe

Gunmen shot a man to death early Wednesday in what appears to be home invasion in south Kansas City.

A caller told police that several gunmen forced open a front door of a house in the 4200 block of East 105th Street shortly before 4:30 a.m., according to a police spokesman.

They fired several shots, fatally striking the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman and four children also were inside at the time, but they were not harmed.

Police were investigating the homicide this morning.
