A Wichita woman was sentenced Tuesday to nearly six years in prison for running over and killer her boyfriend.
Jessika Gooding, 24, was convicted by a jury in February of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Christopher Mills, 27, on Jan. 4, 2012. District Judge Ben Burgess imposed the 71-month sentence after rejecting a recommendation by Gooding’s lawyer that she be placed on probation.
Wichita police said Gooding ran over Mills in a Toyota Camry after an argument near Kinkaid and Santa Fe in south Wichita. Gooding said her actions that day were the result of a withdrawal from an addiction to meth.
