Jackson County prosecutors today accused two additional men of participating in the killing of an alleged pot dealer in October.
Prosecutors charged Troy L. Bristol, 18, and Steven J. Paden, 21, each with second-degree murder, robbery and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with the Oct. 9 killing of Paul Piper, 26, on his front porch in the 3400 block of Indiana Avenue in Kansas City. Police arrested Bristol on Tuesday and Paden on Wednesday. Both remained in jail today in lieu of $250,000 bond.
Prosecutors charged Jerald W. Hendrix, 25, earlier this year and Prentice Wilson, 22, last year each with the same charges for allegedly participating in the killing. Court records allege Wilson had fought with Piper because Piper allegedly had gotten together with Wilson’s girlfriend. The four defendants allegedly followed Piper home and intended to rob him of his drug money. But Piper reportedly tried to grab the gun and was shot.
