Get out and enjoy the spring-like temperatures today as rain is forecasted for later tonight and Saturday.
Much of today will be dry with temperatures reaching the 40s and 50s in most areas. Kansas City is expected to have a high near 58 degrees.
An area of low level moisture currently over southern Texas is expected to gradually move northward into eastern Kansas by mid-afternoon. A few showers could produce over northwestern Missouri in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.
Showers and scattered thunderstorms might develop this evening and spread into eastern Kansas and western Missouri overnight. The storms, however, are not expected to be severe.
Showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue through Saturday evening. The high Saturday is expected to be near 60 in Kansas City.
Colder air is expected to move into northwestern Missouri, producing a chance for rain and a snow mixture in northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
Because of the colder air, the highs Sunday are expected to reach only the lower 40s.
