Kansas City police arrested three suspected burglars early today after their getaway vehicle got stuck in the snow.

The officers tracked the suspects through footprints left in the heavy white stuff.

An officer noticed the burglary about 2:05 a.m. when he drove past the Mega Wash Laundry Mat at 5642 Troost Ave. on his way to another call. The officer saw two men exiting the closed business through a broken storefront window. They fled with a third man in a blue and white van.

The van skidded sideways near 58th Street and Michigan Avenue and got stuck in the street, police said. The suspects ran but officers followed their footprints. Officers arrested three suspects within a few blocks of the abandoned van.

Police responding to the laundrymat noted that the burglars had broken into the office and tried to break open an ATM inside the business. It was unknown if the burglars stole anything.
