The Johnson County Commission met for less than five minutes Thursday morning. The commission, with just enough board members to meet, voted to continue the meeting until next week.
Hannes Zacharias, county manager, announced that Johnson County employees were being informed they could go home except for those involved in essential activities. He noted that Clay, Platte andJackson counties already had closed.
Commissioner Michael Ashcraft hoped that all meetings in the future could be as brief.
“I sure hope we can make that record repeatedly for the shortest meeting,” he said.
