3 teens seriously injured in Cass County crash

Three teenage boys were injured Sunday evening when the driver of the car they were in lost control and crashed in rural Cass County.

Tyler A. Schwab, 18, of Harrisonville, was driving a 1991 Honda north on South Old Drum Road about 8:50 p.m. when he lost control near East 251st Street. He overcorrected and crashed, with the car overturning, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Schwab and two passengers, Dalton J. Cusick, 15, of Garden City, Mo., and Christian Hughes, 17, of Pleasant Hill, suffered serious injuries.

Cusick and Hughes were flown to a Kansas City hospital. Schwab was taken by ambulance to a Kansas City hospital.

None of the teenagers were wearing seatbelts, according to the highway patrol.
